Heights of Paradise
Resting atop the hillside in Paradise Valley, this landscape has it all – shaded patios and sunny lawns, private nooks and open gathering spaces, lush gardens and relaxing water features.
Intertwining Mediterranean architecture with the Southwest landscape, this garden celebrates the horticulture of both regions—ranging from dramatic bougainvillea arches to native specimen-quality cacti—and highlights hardscaping that reflects their shared qualities, from rocky outcroppings to sparkling blue pools.
This project held special meaning for us. We had partnered with the previous owners, and while the new owners admired the work already in place, we set out to earn their trust anew. Our crews began by sharing their individual specialties, then brought that expertise to life—adding the features the clients envisioned while reducing both maintenance needs and water use.
Working side by side, we came to understand the family’s daily rhythms, how they moved through the space, and where new possibilities lay. With this insight, we shaped a landscape that could be experienced from every window and enjoyed from sunrise to the evening hours.

Artwork, both playful and decorative, was incorporated throughout their landscape. We were involved in every aspect of the design and construction, from remodeling of patios to the additions of water features, resulting in a garden where every space has its special moments of reflection. The result is a serene desert oasis—sophisticated, sustainable, and deeply rooted in its place.
Their finished space included a connected exploratory garden that features a blend of beautiful, serene walkways and alcoves they could enjoy on a midnight stroll with more functional areas that allow for interactive play with their grandkids.
